Snow and Faking It...

Shoveled a few driveways, threw a few ice-chunks, talked about some statements society tries to get us to believe, and finished the night off with a nice cup of hot chocolate...
It's sad when the world is faking knowing how to handle the physical boundaries in dating...or maybe they are done trying to figure out "what's best" and they've just moved on to "what feels best" or "what I want right now". If we go to the length of calling ourselves Christian, we need to realize that we're called to a different standard than those who don't care about this whole Jesus-thing.
It's so tough when the 'norm' is NOT what God wants for us...but as we try to make a stand because of our beliefs, we have to try and remember what we looked at in 1 Corinthians...that we won't be tempted beyond what we can handle...with God's help of course ;)
Be strong...cause "Fire in the fireplace is a beautiful thing...but fire on the carpet can burn down the house." Sex, in the right context, is awesome...but when we stray from God's plan for it, it can leave quite the devastation behind.

Honour

Last week (the 13th), we talked about swords and Honour...and where Honour finds it's place in relationships.  We talked about how guys learning to Honour the women God's already put in their lives (mom, sister, etc) could really help them in preparing for them to Honour and respect their future wife.  We also addressed the girls, and that so many of them look for mere acceptance from guys instead of standing firm on a list of things their future guy needs to have - one of those things being the ability to Honour them and also the desire to commit to them longterm.  We looked at the fact that God calls us, as Christians, to live a different life than that of those who don't believe in Him...so our relationships and how we pursue someone of the opposite sex (and how we treat them) needs to be different too.
